Huwa-San is a disinfectant based on hydrogen peroxide. One liter of Huwa-San TR-50 contains 570 g hydrogen peroxide. Since hydrogen peroxide in itself is not stable and decomposes slowly into water and oxygen, a ‘stabilizer’ under the form of silver was added to Huwa-San TR50. One liter Huwa-San contains 0.36 g silver.
Huwa-San technology is a proprietary stabilization methodology of the active ingredient hydrogen peroxide. The Huwa-San Technology is based on the combination of hydrogen peroxide and colloidal silver. Huwa-San’s silver acts as a chelating agent for hydrogen peroxide. This means it improves the stability of the total hydrogen peroxide solutions, even at low concentrations. So more hydrogen peroxide molecules arrive on the “active site” to form radicals over there. Thus Huwa-San’s silver stabilizer is able to remain stable in different types of water, increasing the disinfection properties of hydrogen peroxide. Due to the silver stabilizer the product breaks down much slower.
Colloidal silver ions are surrounded by different hydrogen peroxide molecules. These complexes are attracted by the negatively charged wall and underlying membrane of a prokaryotic and eukaryotic microbe. The silver complex then binds to the organic molecules of the membrane. Silver ions now function as CATALYST for the oxidation of membrane molecules by hydrogen peroxide. ROS (reactive Oxygen Species— radicals) are formed which induce a cascade of oxidation reaction on the membrane of lipids. Hydrogen peroxide is consumes (forming water, oxygen and free radicals), but the silver molecule is further oxidized (silver oxide production, insoluble) and reduced, remaining an active molecule during the different oxide-reduction reactions, a REAL CATALYST.
Hydrogen peroxide is responsible for the oxidation of lipids in the cell membrane (1) and for the degradation of ribosomes, DNA and RNA through cytoplasmic penetration (2).
The reaction below occurs:
2 H2O2 → OH° + OOH° + H2O
Hydroxyl (OH°) and perhydroxyl (OOH°) radicals are formed. These radicals are uncharged and therefore they can easily pierce the microbial cell wall, what makes them the most effective oxygen compounds. Once inside the cell, these radicals oxidize all organic material, including proteins and nucleic acid necessary for life.
The activation of the hydrogen peroxide stops at the moment that all of the contaminants are oxidized in such a way that, after the oxidation reaction, the unreacted hydrogen peroxide in the stabilized form (H2O2) remains. The unreacted hydrogen peroxide on the other hand, that was converted to active oxygen, dissolves after the oxidation of the organic material in water (H2O) and oxygen (O2).
With good dosage and provided the surface remains in contact with the Huwa-San solution for some time, a very good disinfection can be ensured thanks to the depot-effect.
The silver, on itself, has no negative impact on your system. In time, the silver will precipitate on the installation, but the amount of silver is present in such small quantities that will not affect the installation.

Huwa-San 50 is suitable to kill bacteria, fungi, viruses, spores, algae and amoebae in Cattle husbandries, poultry farms, dairy farms, and horse breeding, ... for:
- Disinfection of drinking water for animal use
- Removal of organic scaling (biofilm) in drinking water systems (storage tanks, pipe systems, nipples, cups, …)
- Disinfection of surfaces, floors, walls and equipment in animal husbandries such as cattle breeding, dairy, poultry, egg production.
- Treatment of foot rots (claw infections).
Storage condition and shelf life
Store the product in its sealed container at 10°- 30°C, in a dark, low-traffic area. In its closed packing, the product can be kept for 3 years.
